We read from history’s lips
The words, Never again.
And promise ourselves
If that was during our life
We would fight
We would speak out
Do what is right
Not on my Watch!
Not in my Life!
We’ll draw the line
And we’ll hold it
Justice has a new name
Not race
Not gender
Not sexuality,
Not birthplace
Nor religion
Nor ability
will be our dividing line.
Our differences connect us!
Universal Human Rights are here to protect us!
But human rights have never come easy
Progresses have always been
Hard fought and
Hard won
So when injustice presents itself
Will your voice pierce the silence?
Will you blow the whistle?
Will you halt the violence?
Will you fight corruption?
And environmental destruction?
Will your lips echo with lessons learned
Through generations of struggle?
Justice has a new name
And sounds a lot like
Integrity
It looks a lot like courage
So let’s make our own words ring true
Because that clear voice coming from those lips
Well it sounds a lot like
YOU !
